Watsu
Watsu, short for Water Shiatsu, is a form of aquatic bodywork. It is a moving meditation performed in a body temperature pool of water. In this style, you wear floats on your legs and I support your head and neck so your nose never enters the water. I bring your body through a sequence of movement, stillness, and stretching. While you are floating horizontally, I apply shiatsu techniques to stimulate specific pressure points along the energy pathways of your body. The combination of the practice of shiatsu in a womb-like aquatic environment has sometimes been characterized as "therapeutic rebirth". This release of old physical, mental and emotional tension has profound and lasting healing effects.
I only offer Watsu at Strawberry Park Hot Springs.
